YSR district: Social engineering stands out in YSRCP’s list of candidates for all the 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. As part of the party's focus on social engineering, candidates from backward classes and weaker sections have been given appropriate representation in the list.

The party has fielded 100 candidates (84 MLA, 16 MP) from BC/SC/ST/Minority communities which is a 50 percent of 175 MLA and 25 MP seats. Of 175 MLA seats, 29 seats were given to SC, 7 to ST, 48 to BC and 91 to OC candidates. The party is fielding 7 minorities and 19 women candidates in the forthcoming assembly and general elections. Of 25 MP seats, the party has fielded 4 candidates from SC, 1 from ST, 11 from BC and 9 from OC.  Among the declared candidates, 5 seats were given to women.

In the 2024 elections list, we notice a significant increase in the representation given to SC, ST, BC and Minority communities when compared to 2019. A total of 11 more seats are given to these communities. Taking up the number of seats in the SC/ST/BC/Minorities community to 50 percent.

Besides ensuring  social justice in the distribution of tickets, the party has recognised cadres who worked for the party and picked 14 candidates from local bodies like ZPTC, MPTC, Sarpanch or party supporters.

Out of the total 200 candidates selected for either MLA or MP, 77 percent of them, i.e. 153 candidates (131 MLA, 22 MP) are Graduates, 58 candidates are Post Graduates while 6 are Doctorates. Among the Lok Sabha candidates, 4 candidates are doctors, 4 lawyers, one chartered accountant and one medical practitioner.
