AP COVID-19: 98 New Cases, Tally At 3,042

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh's COVID-19 tally on Sunday rose to 3,042 with 98 new cases detected from tests conducted in the past 24 hours.

From 9 am Saturday to 9 am Sunday, 43 people were discharged, and the total number of patients discharged stood at 2,135. Two deaths were reported from the state, one each from Krishna and Chittoor districts, taking the toll to 62.

There are 845 active cases in the state, according to the state's health bulletin.

In a positive sign, Andhra Pradesh's cumulative tally of foreign returnees to the state remained unchanged at 111. This figure has remained unchanged since Wednesday.

The cumulative tally of migrants to the state stood at 418, with 221 active cases, while eight have been discharged in the last 24 hours.

The state nodal officer reported that 9,370 samples were tested during the past 24 hours.

India reported a record daily jump of 8,380 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, taking the total to 1,82,143 infections, according to the union health ministry. The toll stood at 5,164. The country is now the ninth most-affected in the world.
