AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government, on Wednesday, has issued orders extending the curfew in the state until July 7. Though the Covid cases are decreasing day by day, the government has decided to be strict in implementing Covid restrictions to control the spread of the virus.

As the Covid positivity rate is high in East Godavari district, the curfew relaxation timing will only be from 6 AM to 2 PM.

Keeping in view the rising cases in East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, and Chittoor districts, the curfew time was increased. The government had decided to relax the curfew from 6 AM to 6 PM.

Anil Kumar Singhal, Chief Secretary of the medical health department, had issued the orders to this effect on Wednesday.
Different sanctions were imposed in various districts. The curfew relaxation will be from 6 am morning to 6 pm evening in East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna and Chittoor districts, where corona cases are currently on the rise. The curfew will be in force from 6 pm to 6 am the next day.

The curfew will be in force in the remaining 9 districts from 10 pm to 6 am. Curfew relaxations were given from 6 am. to 10 pm. However, the government has issued orders that the shops should be closed by nine o'clock at night.
The relaxation time has also been increased in Prakasam district as the positivity rate is less than 5 percent at present. With this, curfew relaxation was restricted to 6 hours in the remaining 4 districts only.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed all the district collectors and police personnel to strictly enforce the curfew. He also asked the officials to ensure the positivity rate comes down below 5 percent in those districts.

With the orders of the Chief Minister, the curfew relaxation is limited to six hours in those districts while the other 9 districts have the relaxation time from 6 AM to 6 PM.
