AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh cabinet expansion is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 22 at 1:29 PM. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken the decision to fill up the two ministerial berths which fell vacant due to the resignation of Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkataramana.

Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan will administer the swearing in ceremony with the new ministers tommorrow at 1.29 PM. CM YS Jagan will reach Raj Bhavan at 1 PM tomorrow.

Both Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkataramana resigned to their posts on July 3 after being elected to the Rajya Sabha.

The governor accepted their resignations on July 20, paving the way for the induction of the two replacements into the cabinet tomorrow.

Since both Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkataramana are from the the BC community, it is speculated that Chief Minister YS Jagan will also pick their replacements as new ministers from the same community.

So far, there is no official announcement from the ruling YSR Congress Party on the new inductees into the state cabinet.

Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose was handling the portfolios of revenue, registration and stamps while Mopidevi Venkataramana was assigned animal husbandry and fisheries portofolios. The two took oath on June 8th, 2019 and resigned to their ministerial posts on July 1st, 2020.

Elections to the Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh were held on June 19. As expected, ruling YSR Congress Party recorded a clean sweep, winning all the four seats from the state by virtue of its unassailable strength of 151 in the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
