Indian sprint legend Milkha Singh breathed his last on Friday night after one month long battle with coronavirus. Milkha is survived by his son Jeev Milkha Singh, daughters Mona Singh, Sonia Singh and Aleeza Grover. Several leaders and celebs mourned the demise of Milka Singh and are tweeting that the death of the legendary sprinter is an irreparable loss to the nation.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed grief over the demise of Milkha Singh, the Sprint King who cantered like a 'Flying Sikh' to take Indian glory to Olympic heights. He added that Milkha Singh has been an inspiration to many young athletes and will continue to remain so. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter and tweeted, “In the passing away of Shri Milkha Singh Ji, we have lost a colossal sportsperson, who captured the nation’s imagination and had a special place in the hearts of countless Indians. His inspiring personality endeared himself to millions. Anguished by his passing away.”
