Alliance Seat Sharing Gives Headache to Naidu, Pawan Kalyan

In West Godavari district, internal conflicts refuse to die within the alliance between the TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP parties. Party cadres of the TDP and Jana Sena are disgruntled over the allocation of seats in the district's MLA constituencies.

Dissatisfied with being denied a ticket, former TDP MLA Kalapudi Siva has announced that he will contest the election as an independent candidate from the Undi assembly constituency. Meanwhile, in Bhimavaram, Jana Sena party leaders are not cooperating with the party's candidate. There are disputes over candidate selection in Narasapuram. On the other hand, supporters of Tanuku Jana Sena leader Vidivada Rama Chandra Rao are unwilling to cooperate with the TDP.

As part of their alliance for seven constituencies in West Godavari district, the Jana Sena has fielded candidates in Bhimavaram, Tadepalligudem, and Narasapuram constituencies, while the TDP announced candidates for Tanuku, Achanta, Palakollu, and Undi constituencies.

Jana Sena leader Bommidi Nayakar, who recently met Pawan Kalyan in Vijayawada, announced that the Narasapuram seat was allocated to him and started campaigning in the constituency. However, former TDP Minister Kothapalli Subbarayudu, who recently joined Jana Sena, claimed to have no information about the seat allocation to Nayakar and asserted that the Narasapuram seat belongs to him. Nayakar and Subbarayudu are conducting separate campaigns, causing confusion among the cadre.

Moreover, internal differences have arisen between the camps of former MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu and Narasapuram TDP in-charge Potturi Ramaraju. The Bandaru faction is campaigning that Ramaraju will be removed from his responsibilities as in-charge in the coming days, while the Ramaraju faction is spreading rumours that Bandaru will have no place in the party. In the 2019 assembly elections, the TDP was reduced to the third position in the Narasapuram constituency, and the internal fighting will further damage the party's prospects in the upcoming polls.

Jana Sena's Tanuku constituency in-charge, Vidivada Ramachandra Rao, was vying for the ticket for the Tanuku seat, but Pawan Kalyan denied it to him. Vidivada's supporters are unhappy with the allotment of the Tanuku seat to the TDP, and now Vidivada is staying away from party activities. Nadendla Manohar, who visited the constituency to oversee arrangements for the Tadepalligudem Jenda Sabha, did not even meet Vidivada to pacify him.

Former MLA Vetukuri Sivarama Raju (Kalapudi Siva), who was hoping for a TDP ticket from the Undi constituency, rebelled against the alliance. He appeared disappointed that Chandrababu Naidu had not approached him regarding the ticket allocation and announced that he would contest as an independent candidate from the Undi seat.

Former TDP MLA Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu (Anji Babu), who had been away from active politics for the last five years, was allocated the Bhimavaram seat by the Jana Sena leadership. This decision has disappointed the cadre, who are now opposing Anji Babu's candidacy. They are complaining that Anji Babu's behaviour raises doubts about whether he is a TDP candidate or a Jana Sena candidate.
