Surrendering of Aided Schools to Government Voluntary, Reiterates AP CM

During a review meet held in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reiterated that surrendering of aided schools to the state government was completely voluntary and the intention was to do good and help the managements, teachers and students of aided institutions by improving their prevailing conditions. 

He said if managements handover the institutions that they are unable to run, Government will revive them and the names of the donors will be retained safeguarding the management ideals. He said even those institutions that earlier opted to surrender institutions or only teachers can reconsider their decision. 

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to focus on maintenance of toilets in schools and said regular inspections should be conducted. He said Head Masters should focus on providing quality education, midday meals and other facilities and added that everyday monitoring should be done. He instructed the officials to take regular feedback on Gorumuddha scheme from parents and students and take necessary steps in case of any problems. He said Collectors, JCs and officials should monitor the scheme and check the quality of the food. He instructed the officials to bring the concept of 'Learn to Learn' in the curriculum and said the concept of learning various subjects through the internet and electronic devices and teaching them to others should be taught to children. 

Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh, School Education Principal Secretary Buditi Rajashekar, Women and Child Welfare Principal Secretary A R Anuradha, School Education Director (MDM and Sanitation) B M Diwan, Women and Child Welfare Director Krutika Shukla, Sarwa Siksha Abhiyan Project Director Vetri Selvi, School Education Director V Chinaveerabadhrudu, APREIS Secretary V Ramulu and other officials were present.
