YSRCP MLA from Pedana constituency Jogi Ramesh took charge as Housing Minister at the fourth block of Secretariat here on Saturday. After assuming office, he cleared files pertaining to one lakh houses in Vizag under the Navratna Housing Scheme ( housing for the poor) and increased the supply of 90 bags of cement to 140 bags for the beneficiaries.
As a minister, the first file he added his signature to was the file related to the land and housing grant for one lakh women beneficiaries in Visakhapatnam. Later, he signed another file which increases the subsidised cement bags limit from 90 bags to 140 bags to the housing beneficiaries.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Housing Minister Ramesh said that while the government was sanctioning houses for lakhs of women in Visakhapatnam, however, they are facing obstructions from some vested interests. “Unlike the previous TDP regime, the YS Jagan government is implementing the housing scheme on a saturation basis irrespective of caste, religion, region of political affiliations,” he added
