Expedite Construction Works In Jagananna Colonies, AP CM Tells Officials

Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting on housing and infrastructure development in Jagananna colonies besides felicitation of Volunteers in recognition of their services.

The State would award volunteers under three categories – Seva Vajra, Seva Ratna, and Seva Mitra on the eve of Ugadi recognizing their services. Seva Mitra will be awarded for 2,18,115 Volunteers who served for over one year without any complaints. Seva Ratna award for 4,000 volunteers of which five volunteers would be selected from each Mandal, five volunteers from each municipality, and 10 volunteers from each corporation. "Seva Vajra" award for 875 Volunteers for which 5 volunteers would be selected from each constituency.

Volunteers will be selected based on the efficiency shown in the door-door survey, distribution of pensions, implementation of home delivery services, and activities related to pension cards, rice cards, health cards, etc. A financial incentive of Rs 10,000 would be given to Seva Mitras, Rs 20,000 to Seva Ratnas, and Rs 30,000 to Seva Vajras. The Chief Minister inspected the medals, certificates, and Badges to be awarded to volunteers.

Reviewing housing, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to support with construction materials to those who opt to build houses on their own and ensure they are provided with steel, cement, and other construction materials at a lower price. He directed the officials to focus on providing water and electricity facilities in the colonies so that the construction works would be expedited. He said to focus on solving the problems related to house sites that are in legal disputes and added not to compromise in quality in the construction of houses.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure the width of roads in Jagananna colonies should not be less than 20 feet. He examined the designs for the development of infrastructure facilities such as roads, drainage, Electricity facility in the Jagananna colonies and suggested changes.

Panchayati Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandrareddy, Housing Minister Cherukuvada Ranganatha Raju, Municipal and Urban Development Special Chief Secretary Y Srilakshmi, Housing Secretary Ajay Jain, and other officials were present.
