Amaravati: Beginning May 17, new sarpanches will be trained in large-scale sanitation.
Amaravati: A training programme on massive sanitation for sarpanches will begin on May 17 in an effort to equip newly-elected sarpanches to maintain sanitation in their respective villages.
In a communiqué to chief executive officers, district panchayat officers, DWMA project directors, and district coordinators across the state, Commissioner of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Girija Shankar said that in the current pandemic situation, the government has decided to implement the Jagananna Swachha Sankalpam programme, which is a massive sanitation programme in all village panchayats.
The training will begin on May 17 with all the newly elected sarpanches via a Zoom meeting. Per day, the training programme will cover two districts.
