Kaala is competing with Hollywood film Jurassic World: The Fallen, but the film continues to do rock steady business at ticket windows. Rajinikanth is seen playing a mafia don in the film. Kaala is helmed by Pa.Ranjith and produced by actor son- in-law Dhanush. Apart from Rajinikanth, Kaala also features Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Sampath, Sayaji Shinde and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles. The music of the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
