Telangana Congress MLAs Seek Security Over Life Threat

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress MLAs Komatireddi Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar have said that there was a threat to their lives and have requested the DGP to provide protection to them. Both the MLAs today met the DGP at his office here and put forward their request. They told him that the High Court had passed a judgement saying that they were MLAs. Hence the government should restore the services of gunmen that were earlier provided.

The MLAs also said that the police had arrested Congress workers who had celebrated the High Court judgement and was always targeting Congress workers in Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar district.If these atrocities were not stopped immediately, the MLAs threatened to sit on indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, they said.

They demanded all the facilities that are provided for a MLA to be extended to them as well. The DGP had promised to take up the safety issue with the security committee.
