Keerthy Suresh: Mahanati Day 7 Collections  

The most awaited film Mahanati was welcomed by the audiences on May 9 and received huge applause from all corners. On the box office front, Mahanati is doing unstoppable business and beaten Naa Peru Surya in terms of collections and theatres list.

If reports doing the rounds are anything to go by, after seeing the positive talk about the film, the filmmakers are all set to increase the theatre count from this weekend. It is a known fact that in most of the theatres, Tollywood big budget films are being screened—Bharat Ane Nenu, Rangasthalam and Naa Peru Surya.

If Mahanati makers want to extend the theatre count then they must remove one of the films from other theatres. We are not sure which film will be pulled out but it is going to affect other films' businesses. Even after forty years, Savitri amma rules the box office with her biopic.

Thanks to the positive reviews from critics and word of mouth reaction from the audiences which is helping Mahanati to fetch big bucks at the box office. It is worth mentioning here that Mahanati is the first women-centric film to cross $1.5 million at the US box office which is huge achievement for Keerthy Suresh. It is a rare feat for any south Indian actress to rule the box office.

The film has managed to collect $1,905 and total gross of the film is $1,655,779 which is huge for a first weekend collection. Mahanati has shattered all box office records and thus has become the 15th highest Telugu grosser in USA. Take a look at the tweet:

Mahanati is a biopic of yesteryear actress Savitri. The film is not your routine commercial drama. Director Nag Ashwin has showcased the ups and downs of her life. Mahanati is giving tough competition to Allu Arjun's Naa Peru Surya even in US collections in the opening weekend. Apart from Keerthy Suresh, Mahanati also stars Dulquer Salman, Samantha, Rajendra Prasad and Mohan Babu in lead roles.
