Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party MLA RK Roja criticised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu for his statements on Dachepalli incident and said that Chandrababu was trying to cover up the state government's failure while it was accusing the opposition. Speaking to media here today, Roja strongly attacked AP CM for his remarks on Dachepalli incident this morning.

The YSRCP MLA said that over the last one month numerous cases of rape have been reported, but Chandrababu ignored all of them. "After YSRCP protests against the Dachepalli incident, AP CM woke up from his slumber and met the victim. To cover up his government's misdeeds, he sat next to the victim. Addressing Chandrababu directly, she asked, "are you not aware that rape victims' details are not to be revealed?"

Roja said that despite being in the wrong, the TDP was trying to blame YSRCP for the incident. "The inefficiency of the state government is very evident. We hear that they were unable to catch hold of the 55-year-old rapist. The culprit Subbaiah is a member of TDP and the local MLA had also been to his house. What do you have to say to this?" she questioned.

Pointing out similar incidents and how the TDP government tried to manage them, Roja listed out different incidents that occurred during the regime of the present government. She said a settlement was reached for Rishiteshwari case, and the Call Money Sex Racket case was diluted since many TDP leaders were involved in it. Similarly, the government has done injustice to Guntur ZP Chairperson Jaani Moon. In MRO Vanajakshi's case the CM had to intervene and bring about a reconciliation.

Roja also highlighted the ADR Report which stated that five TDP leaders were named in women atrocity and assault cases. She said that around 800 cases were written when Chandrababu came into power, "if this is the case who can save the general public?"

The YSRCP MLA expressed her shock at the way the TDP leaders were behaving in the state and the number of crimes against women had increased drastically during the last four years. She pointed out that YSRCP had protested against the bikini show in Vizag and had got it stopped. It was unfortunate that the police department was made dysfunctional by the government and TDP leaders.

Roja added that YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would prohibit liquor in the state once the party comes to power. She also said that women would be safe under Rajanna Rajyam.
