New Parking Fee From Today In Telangana

The state government issued guidelines on parking fee which comes in effect from today (April 1)

Hyderabad: In a major relief to the people, the state government issued guidelines on parking fee which comes in effect from today (April 1). For the first 30 minutes there will be no parking fee as per the orders. In this connection, the GHMC held meeting with owners of shopping malls and multiplexes, briefed about the guidelines asking them to implement adding that stern action would be taken if found flouting the rules.

GHMC officials also paid heed to their problems and promised them to take up the matter to the state government.

First 30 Minutes Free

As per it, for the first 30 minutes there will be no parking fee. Subsequently it would be charged deepening on the duration of time since the vehicle has been parked. GHMC commissioner B Janardan Reddy said that in the parking bill, time has to be mentioned mandatorily else appropriate division needs to applied.

1. Irrespective whether customers purchase items or groceries the parking is free for the first 30 minutes.

2. The visitors who have purchased items or groceries they have to produce a bill, to which there will no parking fee. If a person fails to show the bill of purchased items then they have to shell out parking fee money depending upon the time.

3. In a situation where the vehicle is parked over an hour at multiplexes, then one needs to produce bills of purchased items and if this is more than the movie ticket price then there will no parking fee.

The GHMC consists of 25 multiplexes, shopping malls and other business complexes. Following complaints by the people over exorbitant parking fee, the state government brought in a government order (GO) which was issued on March 20 with details on parking fee coming in effect from April 1. In this connection, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal (MAUD) Secretary Arvind Kumar took to social media tweeting the copy of the GO.
