Several interesting factors came to light during the investigation. Nayeem’s gang started implementing the action plan and made calls to few builders in the city demanding arrangement for Rs 10 crore within a week. “Otherwise, we’ll kill you as per the Bhai’s (Nayeem) order, they threatened a builder, said a police official, who’s part of the investigation.

Several close associates of Nayeem have been arrested and they also confirmed that they were planning to shift to Saudi Arabia soon.

Nayeem Trained in Pak

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) had suspected that Nayeem went to Pakistan and trained in militant operations for seven months. During this period, Nayeem had developed relations with associates of Dawood Ibrahim. Another police official, who studied Nayeem’s modus operandi closely, said that the available documents and what those arrested said further validate his plans of running a mafia company in the country on the lines of Dawood Ibrahim. Nayeem was also involved in weapon smuggling to neighboring states Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhan and Bengal.

Reluctant to surrender

Though living underground life for long, Nayeem never thought of surrendering. He further became furious on some occasions, when his close relative advised him it better to lead a normal life after surrendering. But Nayeem refused to listen.

Suffering from serious disease

Police also suspect that Nayeem was suffering from a deadly disease. Officials seized some tablets related to this disease. Some medical reports were also found during the search.

SIT on Nayeem’s links

Some books and diaries found during the search operation reveal several names of top brass in the police departments in several states and political leaders. The Police department is exploring ways to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Telangana DGP is likely to announce the decision on SIT soon. Nayeem had clearly mentioned in his diaries on how much he paid to whom and on which operation. Senior police officials surprised to see the data with clarity as Nayeem recorded his every transaction during the past five years.

It’s learnt that two senior IPS officers were close to Nayeem and made hundreds of crore in the united AP. In addition to this, two-thirds of police officials and staff in Nalgonda district were paid Rs10,000 to Rs20,000 every month by Nayeem, who also registered properties worth Rs16 crore on two IPS officers.
