Nayeem Had No Policy or Strategy As Money Matters For Every Crime

Hyderabad: Slain gangster Mohammad Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem was widely known for his anti-naxal activity and involvement in numerous killings. But, the latest reports showed the another shocking facet of the man. Nayeem, known for his anti-Naxal actions, had taken supari to kill Bastar IG Shivaprasad. This reveals Nayeem had no policy or principle and that only money mattered.

The documents seized from the place of Dabbakanna encounter site in Chhattisgarh revealed the Maoists gave supari to a contract killer to eliminate the IG. The police suspect that Nayeem could be the contract killer. When Maoist activity was at its zenith in undivided Andhra Pradesh, Nayeem worked closely with the police to eliminate the Naxals. But, when he extended his operations to Chhattisgarh, he had no qualms taking supari to kill a top cop. The letter also revealed that the IG was becoming a hindrance to the Maoists in their fund collection driver.

Nayeem brokered deals in Chhattisgarh

The investigations also revealed that basing himself at Sukma, Raipur and Jagadalpur, Nayeem and his associates settled several land disputes and property issues. Police on Thursday searched a house of Nayeem’s brother Shaham on the outskirts of Raipur. As many as 11 vehicles, property documents and jewellery were seized. Based on the information given by Telangana police, Chhattisgarh police started searches on several locations of Nayeem and his associates.

Chhattisgarh police now realized that Nayeem resorted to several extortions and supari killings. until now, they were under the impression that Nayeem came closer to them as he was supporting them to suppress Maoists. Chhattisgarh police also investigating to find out whether Nayeem had links with terrorists as well.

2 associates in custody

Vanasthalipuram police have taken Balaram and Sridhar Goud, two key associates of Nayeem, into custody. Police searched Bhavani Enclave in Vanasthalipuram and seized 3 guns, bullets, cash from the house. Sridhar Goud and Balaram had been remanded. Hayathnagar Seventh Metropolitan Court on Thursday allowed police to take them into custody for five days. Police also identified that weapons smuggling was done from this house. Sridhar Goud is a friend of Faheem, who’s cousin of Nayeem.

Faiyaz arrested

Police on Thursday arrested Faiyaz, 26, who’s close associate of Nayeem, in Satamrai, Shamshabad mandal. Police started vehicle inspection on Shamshabad mandal and identified Fayaz. A tapancha, three bullets were seized from him. Faiyaz alias Ameer hails from Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district. One town CI Bikshapathy said that SIT came to Miryalaguda as part of its investigation.

SIT has been interrogating Nayeem’s wife, brother-in-law, mother-in-law. A house located in Gandhi Nagar in Chintakani mandal, Khammam district, has been identified as property of Nayeem. Nayeem’s mother Mohammad Tahera Begum was identified as below poverty line (BPL) and Tahasildar granted patta to her in 2011. Police also identified that Nayeem’s relatives are residing in this house.

100s of SIM cards sourced from Bhongir

Nayeem had a practice of calling targeted people from different phone numbers. The gangster never made second call from the same mobile number. For this, he had a huge collection of SIM cards. Police identified the source of these SIM cards during the investigation.

Bachu Nagaraju, a mobile shop owner in Bhongir, was arrested for supplying hundreds of SIM cards to Nayeem. Nayeem’s close associate Pasham Srinivas is a friend of Nagaraju. Nagarju is also accused in an extortion case committed by Nayeem.

D Sridhar, a Bhongir-based NRI has lodged a complaint with police against extortion of Rs50 lakh from him by Nayeem and his associates. Nagaraju was one of them, Sridhar said in his complaint. Nagaraju had used photos and identity certificates of his customers for activating SIM cards for Nayeem and his gangmen.
