Mahabubnagar: Ahead of ‘Krishna Pushakaralu’, the police in Mahabubnagar district has launched a navigation app ‘krisP’ to facilitate easy direction services and ready reference to the Krishna Pushkar pilgrims.

‘Krishna Pushakaralu’ is commencing from August 12 and will be held till August 23. Mahabubnagar district has 52 ghats in total with 10 major ghats, 15 minor ghats and 27 local or village ghats.

The krisP or Krishna Pushkaralu, developed by a team of officers, covers details of all Pushkara ghats in the district and their importance. Google navigation to all Ghats from all the district headquarters and guided navigation option is available by clicking on ‘Point B’ which denotes destination point or ghat location and provides navigation link on right hand lower corner on the screen

“As a huge number of pilgrims are expected to take the holy dip, elaborate security arrangements are being made. To bring in efficiency in the force deployment and to ensure effective service delivery to the citizens, technology will be widely used,” a release from Mahabubnagar police said.

The App will also provide live updates about traffic and crowd at each Ghat besides contact numbers of Police officers of all Pushkara Ghat areas. Route map for traffic diversions on all the highways and other Pushkara Ghat roads in the district are also available in the App. Mahabubnagar Police is also using Bandobast Management System (e-Bandobust) web-based application for Planning- Coordinating the Bandobust, particularly the force deployment at various ghats and traffic segment.

Mahabubnagar Police has also launched Facebook Page which disseminates crucial information about the ghats, routes, traffic advisories, emergency contact information etc.

The software takes care of Scheme Definition, Resource Coordination, Allocation of Duties to Personnel. The system helps the Police Control Room to generate various reports like the Short fall Reports, Nominal Rolls and also to Print Duty Tickets for all the police personnel, the release said.

Mahabubnagar Police has also launched Facebook Page which disseminates crucial information about the ghats, routes, traffic advisories, emergency contact information etc. This is also being used as an citizen-interface to receive suggestions and to give instructions to pilgrims about Do’s and Don’ts during the Pushkar, the release added.
