Budget 2020: FM Stresses On ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’

HYDERABAD: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the second Union Budget of the Modi 2.0 government. Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget speech asserted that a task force is going to set up to recommend marriageable age for women. She added that good governance is going to give faith to the people. She told that girls are being benefitted with schemes like Beti Padhao and Beti Bachao and now a total of Rs. 28,600 crores have been allocated for the development of women and children. She said that 94.32 percent of girls have been enrolled in the schools at the elementary level and it is 81 percent at the secondary level.

She also stressed on Kuposhan Abhiyaan launched by the Prime Minister has helped the women and children in the country. She added that a task force will present its recommendations for limitations relating to the marriageable age of women. Sitharaman added that Rs 28,600 crore have been allocated for women related schemes in the Union Budget 2020-21.
