Nirbhaya Case: Dummy Hanging Of Four Convicts Performed

HYDERABAD: Tihar jail authorities have conducted the dummy hanging procedure of four convicts who were involved in the Nirbhaya case on the premises of the jail on Sunday.

The authorities used sacks filled with sand to check the strength of the ropes. The jail authorities reported that the sacks filled with sand have been hanged from a height of 1.8 meters to 2.4 meters; it was successful and the ropes have been safeguarded.

The execution will take place on in Jail No 3 and it is officially declared as Pawan Jallad, the hangman from Meerut is going to conduct the execution. As of now, the four convicts are kept in separate prisons.

It is known that the four convicts, Mukesh, Vinay Sharma, Pawan Gupta and Akshay Kumar Singh will be hanged on January 22nd at 7 am in the Tihar jail. All the four convicts are likely to hang simultaneously.
