New Delhi: Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Sunday said that the Army used artillery guns to target terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and several Pakistani military positions opposite the Tangadhar sector along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir have been destroyed.

Rawat said that six to 10 soldiers from Pakistan were killed and three terror camps were destroyed.

The counter-offensive move follows Pakistan's unprovoked ceasefire violations which killed two Indian soldiers and a civilian on Saturday evening.

An army official was quoted saying to a news agency that the pounding of Pakistani positions and terror camps cannot in any way be compared to surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army in September 2016 on terror launch pads across the Line of Control.

Meanwhile, Pakistan army said on Sunday that at least nine Indian soldiers were killed and several injured in the fierce exchange of fire across the Line of Control, but Indian Army sources rejected its claim.

Pakistan military spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor had tweeted that Pakistan also lost one soldier and three civilians in the skirmishes.
