Ram Jethmalani Dead: Eminent Lawyer Passes Away At 95

Ram Jethmalani is dead. As per family sources Ram Jethmanalani passed away this morning after prolonged illness. The 5-year-old was battling ill health for quit some time and was under 24/7 medical supervision for sometime now. The former union minister was also an eminent lawyer who had handled several high profile cases.

Under the NDA government led by AB Vajpayee, Ram Jethmalani was the union law minister. He was also elected as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association. He is survived by a daughter who lives in the US and lawyer son Mahesh Jethmalani.

His first rise to fame was when he handled the famous State of Maharashtra Vs Nanavati case in the year 1959. He also defended Rajiv Gandhi's killer in 2011 at the Madras High Court.

With regards to stock market scams, Ram Jethmalani defended Ketan Parekh and Harshad Mehta while in Jessica Lall murder case, he defended Manu Sharma. Ram Jethmalani also defended the death sentence to Afzal Guru.
