Will Offer Golden Bricks If Ram Temple Built In Ayodhya: Mughal Descendant

Hyderabad: A mughal descendant has offered to give golden bricks if Ram Temple is built in Ayodhya. He said that the Babri Wasjid is not the property of the Waqf Board and that they are the legal owners of the property.

Prince Yakub Habeebuddin Tucy said, "If the Ram Mandir is going to be built in Ayodhya, then we are going to offer golden brick for the construction of the temple. I have already filed a petition in the Supreme Court... We are appealing to the Supreme Court to listen to us because Waqf Board is not the owner of the Ayodhya land."

Yakub was further quoted saying, "The Masjid was constructed there in the year 1529. It was built for the Army and Commandos and that is private property. We are legal title owners of the land. Even the Supreme Court has admitted in 2005 that I am the grandson of Shah Jahan."

He said that if the apex court grants him the ownership of the land, he will give it to the government for building Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

"If the Supreme Court will admit our case and give the title ownership then I will give the total property to the government of India for building Ram Temple in Ayodhya and will give golden brick for the construction of the temple," he said.

Meanwhile, the hearing in the politically sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case could not take place in the Supreme Court on Monday due to some urgent engagement of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, an official source told a news agency. It is listed to heard on Tuesday.

According to the source, the five-judge Constitution bench could not assemble for hearing as CJI Gogoi had some urgent work.

Babri Masjid was demolished by right-wing activists on December 6, 1992 in Ayodhya, leading to the protracted legal battle.
