Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth called Modi-Shah duo as "Krishna - Arjun" of the Mahabharath epic for taking a historic decision on Kashmir recently. The Congress did take to these comments lightly. He was criticised severely by the Congress. Tamil Naidu Congress president KS Alagiri said the Superstar's comments had pained him and were least expected from him.
Speaking to press persons here on Tuesday, Alagiri pointedly asked Rajinikanth if the Centre wanted to remove special status to states then why it did not scrap it for northeastern, buty only Jammu and Kashmir. He said it was being done because Jammu and Kashmir has more Muslim population.
"How can Rajinikanth support such double standards? How can Modi and Shah become Krishna Arjuna whose decision on Kashmir trampled upon the rights of lakhs of Kashmir by revoking Article 370. Rajinikanth should once again read Mahabharath in detail to understand what it preaches," he hit out.
Rajinikanth made these comments recently at the launch of book written by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in Chennai. "My heartfelt congratulations for making Mission Kashmir a success. Amit Shah speech in Parliament was amazing. Amit Shah and Modi are like Krishna and Arjuna. Only they know who is Krishna and who is Arjuna," he said to a thunderous applause.
While those who hailed the Centre's deicison on Kashmir welcomed the comment, those against have launched a scathing attack against Rajinikanth. Instances such as these are lending more credence to the buzz that Rajinikanth would jump on the BJP bandwagon soon.
