How Much JW Marriott Is Fined For Charging Rahul Bose Rs 442 For Two Bananas ?
Hyderabad: Five-star hotel JW Marriott that charged Rs 442 for two bananas from actor Rahul Bose have been penalised by the tax department.
Tax authorities have fined Rs 25,000 to the luxury hotel for violating regulation by collecting tax on an exempted item, according to a news agency.
The Excise and Taxation Department in Chandigarh also visited the hotel and seized documents related to the sale after Bose pointed the price out, a TV channel reported.
Taking a recap to the incident, Bose took to twitter explaining he was charged Rs 442 (including GST) for two bananas. The bananas were grandly listed as "fruit platter" in the bill.
"You have to see this to believe it. Who said fruit wasn't harmful to your existence? Ask the wonderful folks at JW Marriott Chandigarh," the "Chameli" actor, who is currently shooting in Chandigarh, captioned the video, adding "bananas are just too good for me".

Social media was not merciful and a mother lode of memes followed on the incident giving the PR team of the luxury JW Marriott a nightmare.
