YS Jagan Meets PM Modi in Delhi

New Delhi: YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is all set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh arrived in the National Capital, New Delhi on Sunday and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter's residence at Lok Kalyan Marg.

YS Jagan congratulated Modi on winning the second term and invited him to attend his swearing-in ceremony where he will take the oath as AP CM in Vijayawada on 30th of this month.

The YSR Congress President held discussions with the Prime Minister in an hour-long meeting which majorly focused on state issues, particularly regarding the assurances made during the bifurcation of AP and also sought support to the financially-stricken state.

He urged the release of the pending funds to the state and also take a decision on the special category status. YS Jagan further asked PM Modi to allocate additional funds for big projects such as Kadapa Steel Plant, Polavaram project, and Dugarajapatnam Port.

Explaining the current financial situation of the state, YS Jagan mainly emphasized on the Polavaram project and special category status. He submitted a memorandum of understanding to the Central government seeking assistance for the development of the state.

PM Modi congratulated YS Jagan on his landslide victory in the Andhra Pradesh elections. YS Jagan's YSR Congress party won 151 seats in the 175-member Assembly and 22 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
