The recently announced Haryana State's Board of School Education 10th Exams had three girls topping the exams. One of the toppers, Isha Devi is the daughter of a labourer and aspires to be the Prime Minister. Another joint topper, Sanju is the daughter of a carpenter and wants to be an IAS officer while Shalini Sharma- daughter of a government teacher - wants to become a doctor. All three secured the top rank with 99.4% marks and that too without any tuitions or special classes.
Isha Devi a student of Shiv Shiksha Niketan Sr Secondary School at Sanghan in Kaithal district comes from an extremely humble background, where her father Dharmendra cannot afford to provide for quality education let alone tuitions. She scored 497 marks and shared the 1st position with others.
Sanju Rani of the Ashadeep High School of Karhans in Panipat district is also among the toppers with 497 marks. Her father Rampal is a carpenter and a mother Anju is a housewife. They are extremely happy that a girl from an ordinary family of a small village has topped the exam. Sanju's brother had also topped the Class 10 exam in 2017 but at the block level. Sanju said that she did not go for tuitions and dedicated eight hours every day to self study which helped her ace the exams.
Sanju’s classmate Tannu is among four students, who shared the second position. Tannu who got 496 marks belongs to Pasina Kalan village where her father Ramesh Chander works as a driver. Tannu says that she studied 6-7 hours daily and knew she would make it to the top rankers list.
