Aunty Who Made Pro-Rape Remark Apologises On Facebook
Gurugram: The girls promised to make her life a living hell and vowed to make her public if she did not apologise. And why did they seek her apology? The middle-aged woman who identity was not revealed allegedly gathered seven men at the restaurant and asked them to rape the girls "because she felt we deserved it for wearing short clothes and bashing her unsolicited opinion."
In a video that has gone viral, a group of young women gheraoed a woman at a home furnishing store asking her to repeat what she said at the restaurant and seeking apology for the same.
Hey guys. Today my friends and I were harassed by a woman at a restaurant for me wearing a short dress. This middle aged woman you’ll see in the video addressed seven men at the restaurant to rape us because she felt we deserved it for wearing short clothes and bashing her unsolicited opinion. For speaking up against her primitive mindset. Our instinct was turn away from the drama but supported by our colleagues, we took her on at a shopping centre, nearby. We gave her the chance to apologise, to no avail, of course. Nothing moved the needle for her, not even another woman who learned the story on the spot and implored the ghastly woman to apologise. "This middle aged woman you'll see in the video addressed seven men at the restaurant to rape us because she felt we deserved it for wearing short clothes and bashing her unsolicited opinion," claimed Shivani Gupta on Facebook adding a 9-minute video.
The woman had allegedly gathered seven men at the restaurant and asked the men to rape her for wearing a mini. The young women did not settle the score there and followed the woman to the mall seeking an apology.
The middle-age woman is seen moving away from the camera and refuses to apologise.
Meanwhile, another on looker, who is a mother, sets in into the confrontation and defends the girls. She too demands that the women must apologize to the girls and they can wear whatever they want.
She yelled at the woman saying you are no one to dictate what she wears.
After eight miniutes, the woman say, "Hello guys, these ladies want to wear short to short dress to encourage all to see them. Theek hai? Wow, very good. All the ladies wear the shorter dress or naked to (be) raped. Hi all, if you are the parents, please control the girls (sic)."
After the whole issue had taken over social media, there had been many comments that had fat shamed the woman. A lot of people trolled her as well. A picture of her wearing a short dress had also been making the rounds calling her a hypocrite. She then had taken to the social media platform Facebook to write an apology for to those girls and girls in general. The post read as follows: “I extend an unconditional apology to all the girls. In hind sight, I realise, I was harsh and incorrect in my statement. If any, I should have offered my opinion in private. I was concerned, however, I realise that I should have been protective and progressive in my outlook and not conservative and regressive."
She adds, "As a wife, sister and a mother and more importantly as a woman, I value ever woman's dignity. Once again, I profusely apologise to all women who's sentiments have been hurt.”
But in this world of fake news and fake profiles, who knows if this is the actually woman apologizing, after being so unapologetic about her views or her doings.
