The fourth phase of General Elections has been largely peaceful barring few stray incidents of violence and minor technical snags. According to the figures released by the Election Commission of India around 7:30 PM, a total of 62.15 per cent of voting was registered from 72 Lok Sabha segments that went to polls on Monday.

The ECI confirmed that a case has been filed against Union Minister Babul Supriyo for abusing an election officer and forcibly entering a polling station. In Chatra, Jharkhand, one person who damaged a ballot unit has been arrested. One bomb was hurled close to a polling booth in West Bengal.
