Bengaluru: A group of protesters forced a Karachi bakery outlet in Indira Nagar of Bengaluru to cover the word Karachi in it.  In the wake of the terror attack in Pulwama of Jammu and Kashmir, killing over 42 CRPF soldiers, there have been protests in various parts of the country against Pakistan. In a new low, the protesters demanded that the word Karachi be covered. The management of the bakery tried to explain that they were Indians and had nothing to do with Pakistan, but to no avail.

Finally, the management of the bakery not only covered the offending word, Karachi with cloth, but also put an Indian flag to pacify the group of protesters. This appeared to have assuaged the feelings of the demonstrators.

Incidentally, Karachi bakery is owned by a Sindhi family which migrated to Hyderabad after partition. Khanchand Ramnani, the head of the family set up the famous business establishment in 1952 in Moazzam Jahi Market area.
