A cup of Tea in the morning is nice to begin with, but what if you had to survive only on a cup tea, everyday, for 30 years? A woman from Chhattisgarh has proved that it is possible to have a cup of tea everyday and survive for years. It is being said that she drinks only tea since the last 30 years and her medical condition is also stable.

Pilli Devi residing in Baradiya village of Koriya district, quit eating food at the age of 11 and since then she is surviving on tea. She is locally known as ''chai wali chachi,'' because of her peculiar diet habits.

"Our daughter went to take part in the district level tournament from Patna School in Janakpur, Koriya District. After coming back, all of a sudden she gave up eating food and drinking water," said Rati Ram, father of the 44 year old.

Talking more about the dietary preferences of Pilli Devi, her father added that, she used to consume biscuits and bread with milk tea, but later she switched to black tea, as of now she consumes once a day after sunset.

Bihari Lal Rajvade, brother of Pilli Devi added, I had sought medical help to confirm that she is not suffering from any disease, but doctors couldn't diagnose any health issue caused by her food practices. "We have consulted many hospitals, none of the doctors could find out the reason about her condition," he said.Pilli Devi rarely steps out of the house as she is occupied with Lord Shiva's worship all day, added another family member.

However, a doctor from the district hospital, Koriya, said, scientifically speaking it is highly impossible for normal humans to just survive on tea. It is surprising for a human being to live like this on tea for 33 years. Being on a fast for nine days during Navratri and only drinking tea, is different. But 33 years is more than that, this is not possible."
