Age is no bar, rather it is only a number. A 96-year-old woman from Kerala simply demonstrated it right. Karthyayani Amma from the state's Alappuzha district not only turned into a 'good example' for many people but also Mahindra Group's Chairman Anand Mahindra.
Karthyayani was the oldest student in the examination hall in Cheppad’s Kanichenellur government Lower Primary School in Alappuzha, yet that did not wobble her certainty even a bit.
Karthyayani Amma got herself enrolled with the literacy mission in January this year. She will enter class four next year after qualifying the written test. The result of the written exam is not yet announced. However, Karthyayani seems to be satisfied with her exams.
Anand Mahindra in reverence expressed, “Now if this is true, she is my role model.” Being inspired, the businessman further said, “My brains will stay alive if I stay as hungry to learn as she is.”
