AP Exit Polls Results: The AP Assembly Elections 2019 And Lok Sabha Elections completed the last phase of voting today after a few regions went to polls in the seventh and final phase of the elections. Seven states and a union territory comprising 59 constituencies of the 543 saw brisk voting on Sunday (May 19).

What Are Exit polls?

Exit polls are nothing but the opinion of voters taken when they exit the polling booth after exercising their franchise. While a few exit polls are accurate, not many are able to predict the right numbers going by people's opinion. Pollsters are in much demand given that the information reach is wider thanks to social and the electronic media. Media companies entrust the responsibility of conducting exit polls to Private agencies and institutions.

The Election Commission Prohibits broadcast of exit polls till the end of voting on May 19. This applies to both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

The India Today-Axis My India has predicted that YSR Congress Party would sweep Andhra Pradesh with 18-20 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats. The ruling TDP would be down to 4-6 LS seats, according to the poll.
The India Today-Axis My India exit poll is based on a sample size of 7,42,187 voters according to the channel.
YSRCP will have a vote share of 45% while the TDP will have a vote share of 38%

NewsX-NETA exit polls gives 20 LS seats to YSR Congress and only five seats to the TDP in Andhra Pradesh.

According to News Nation exit poll results, YSR Congress is likely to get 15-17 LS seats while TDP may get 7-9 seats in Andhra Pradesh.

Times Now Channel has predicted a clean sweep for the Narendra Modi-led NDA with 306 out of 542 seats in the Lok Sabha while the UPA formation is set to get 132, while others would get 104 according to the poll.

The Times Now C-Voter survey aired by the channel, on the other hand put the figures at 286 for NDA and 122 for UPA.

Majority Exit Polls Predict A Clear Edge To YSR Congress In Lok Sabha Seats

Majority of pollsters predict a thumping victory for YSR Congress Party out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in the State that went to polls on April 23.

The India Today – Axis My India exit poll indicated that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSR Congress Party is expected to win anywhere between 18 and 20 seats. The TDP’s tally would be down to four to six seats.

The News 18 India – IPSOS also gave YSR Congress a clear edge pointing out that the party would garner 13 to 14 seats, while TDP is set to get 10 to 12 seats. While Janasena may not register any win, BJP is likely to secure zero or one Lok Sabha seat in the State.

The INS-CVoter exit poll has predicted 14 seats for Telugu Desam Party while giving 11 seats to YSR Congress. The News24-Today Chanakya exit poll says TDP to win 17 (± 3) Lok Sabha seats and YSR Congress to win 8 (± 3) seats.

With majority of polls suggesting a clear edge for YSR Congress party in terms of Lok Sabha seats, the party is expected to play a vital role at the Centre notwithstanding which political formation ascends to power.

YS Jagan To Be Next AP CM

Hyderabad: With the exit polls from across the country indicating that YSR Congress is set to emerge victorious by comfortably winning over 130 seats in 175-member Assembly, a survey conducted by VDP Associates revealed that YS Jagan Mohan Reddyis the preferred choice for the post of chief minister.

The State-wide survey pointed out 45 per cent of people wants to see YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as the next chief minister as TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu with 40 per cent. About 13 per cent of the State population is rallying behind actor-turned politician and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan.

It emerges that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Padayatra covering the length and breadth of the State has made him a people’s leader who understands and empathises with masses and their issues. His remarkable connect with people and clarity of thought vis-à-vis issues afflicting people make him stand out while putting his opponent Chandrababu Naidu way behind. Despite all the charisma that he has brought into the politics, Pawan Kalyan doesn’t seem to make much of an impact akin to his brother Chiranjeevi who was trounced by the Congress party led by the then chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in 2009.

Most Exit Polls Predict Another Term For Modi, NDA Set To Garner Over A Clear Majority

New Delhi:Most exit polls Sunday forecast another term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with some of them projecting that BJP-led NDA will get more than 300 seats to comfortably cross the majority mark of 272 in the Lok Sabha.

However, a number of exit polls predicted big losses for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, where it had won 71 seats in 2014, but the saffron party appeared to make major gains in other states.

Times Now telecast two exit polls giving the NDA 296 and 306 seats, while projecting 126 and 132 for the Congress-led UPA.

The CVoter-Republic exit poll has forecast 287 and 128 seats for the NDA and UPA respectively.

However, ABP News-Nielsen and Neta-NewsX predicted that the ruling alliance may fall short of a majority as they respectively gave it 267 and 242 seats. ABP News and NewsX predicted 127 and 164 seats respectively for the UPA.

Elections to 542 seats of the Lok Sabha ended Sunday. The Election Commission has deferred election for Vellore in Tamil Nadu over allegations of misuse of money power.

The counting of votes is slated for May 23.

The CNN News18-Ipsos exit poll said the BJP-led alliance can win a whopping 336 seats with the saffron party getting a majority on its own. It projected only 46 seats for the Congress and 82 for its allies.

In 2014, the NDA had won 336 seats and the Congress 44. The BJP had notched up its maiden majority by bagging 282 seats.

Several exit polls predicted that the SP-BSP alliance is likely to trump the BJP in the country's politically most crucial state Uttar Pradesh. The BJP had won 71 and its ally Apna Dal two of its 80 seats in 2014.

The CVoter-Republic forecast gave the grand alliance in UP 40 seats against 38 for the NDA, while the Jan Ki Baat said the NDA may win 46-57 seats against 15-29 of the SP-BSP combine.

ABP News predicted a huge loss for the BJP in the state, saying it may win only 22 seats while the opposition alliance may emerge victorious in 56 constituencies.

In West Bengal, CVoter-Republic and ABP said the BJP may win 11 and 16 (of the 42 seats) respectively, a big improvement on its tally of two in 2014.

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee dismissed the exit polls as a "gossip" and a gameplan to "replace" EVMs.

"I don't trust Exit Poll gossip. The game plan is to manipulate or replace thousands of EVMs through this gossip. I appeal to all Opposition parties to be united, strong and bold. We will fight this battle together," she tweeted.

News channel ABP said the BJP in Odisha may win nine seats. It had won only one in 2014.

Exit polls in the country have had mixed record on accuracy and quite often their projections have been way off the actual results.

However, Congress ally and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, said every single exit poll cannot be wrong. "Time to switch off the TV, log out of social media & wait to see if the world is still spinning on its axis on the 23rd (May)," he tweeted.

Some social media users pointed out that election results in Australia proved most psephologists and news polls wrong. PTI
