Keeping in view the 17th Lok Sabha election scheduled to begin from April 11, the campaigns all across the country are gearing up.

The results for the elections will be announced on May 23. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an innovative utilization of social media, has reached out to prominent personalities across the country including celebrities from politics, sports, music, film industries, and even the media.

Spreading awareness in regard to their participation in the upcoming elections, the Prime Minister appealed to cricketers such as Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma along with former cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Virender Sehwag, and VVS Laxman to be an inspiration for the public by utilizing their right to vote. He also appealed the same to badminton players Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth

Apart from them, PM Modi also urged legendary musicians Lata Mangeshkar and AR Rahman along with actors - Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Nagarjuna, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, and others.

The prime minister, who will seek his second mandate this time called upon politicians across the country - Rahul Gandhi, K Chandrasekhar Rao, Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, Naveen Patnaik, Chandrababu Naidu, HD Kumaraswamy, Nitish Kumar, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Ram Vilas Paswan, Pawan Chamling among others.

Lastly, he urged all the voters in India to strengthen voter awareness across the country. The upcoming election will witness over 15 million first-time voters.
