Nalgonda: An audio recording of Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham using abusive language against a senior bank official has gone viral, bringing to light the true colours of the elected representative.

The MLA allegedly called up District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) CEO Mohan Rao and threatened him if the suspension of a bank employee was not revoked. The CEO replied that the bank chairman has to take the final call and he is expected to return only on Monday. However, the MLA began his abusive tirade while stating that the CEO is the final authority in suspension matters and warned Mohan Rao against misleading him. While the CEO tried to clarify on the need for the chairman's signature, Veeresham cut him short and said that he is being patient because Mohan Rao is physically challenged.

Demanding the file number of the suspended employee, MLA Veeresham is heard on the audio recording offering bribe to Mohan Rao to revoke the suspension. He is also heard reminding the CEO that he is from Andhra and should not attempt to act smart in Telangana. The audio clipping ends with Veeresham stating that he will send a person named Mallikarjun to the DCCB CEO office on Monday to oversee that the suspension issue is settled failing which Mohan Rao will face dire consequences.

Speaking on the issue, Mohan Rao said that the MLA wanted the bank to reinstate an employee who was involved in a Rs 19 crore scam. The MLA in his defence stated that vested interests are trying to malign his image with doctored audio recordings.
