Naidu owes an explanation: YSRCP

Hyderabad: Terming the Navanirmana Deeksha of N Chandrababu Naidu as Deeksha of Deceiving People YSR Congress has said that the Chief Minister owes an explanation to the people on his failure to keep up the five core promises he made on assuming office.

“It is a pity that Chandrababu during his speech at the Deeksha has asked the people to take a pledge on eradicating corruption while he himself has been the kingpin of the cash for vote case making a mockery of parliamentary democracy,” party MP P Mithun Reddy told reporters here on Tuesday.

During the one year celebrations in the name of Nava Nirmana Deeksha, the Chief Minister should have told the people as to why he could not implement the core promises of loan waiver of farmers and DWACRA women, closure of belt shops, drinking water at subsidised rates and others.

While YSR is remembered for implementing many schemes, there is not a single scheme which has the brand of Chandrababu during his one year rule, which is littered with corruption in Pattiseema contracts, irregularities in PPAs, coal prices besides other charges.

He did not talk about the TDP MLA Revnath Reddy being caught red-handed by the ACB sleuths and his silence confirms his involvement in the entire episode of horse trading. To deviate the people’s attention from the disgrace, he has been resorting to the cheap tactics of opposition bashing as he has done during the assembly session, he said.

Not a single assurance mentioned in the State Reorganisation Act was pursued by Chandrababu Naidu who has also taken the line of watering down the special status issue, without getting a better option in its place. His double speak and double standards are thoroughly exposed, he said.
Brushing aside the criticism of TDP on YSRCP voting in favour of TRS in the MLC elections, he said, “it was TDP which had a tie up with TRS during 2009 elections. We had to exercise our franchise and have voted for TRS as we cannot go with Congress or TDP and it is a one-off vote.”
