As if the controversy surrounding Power star Pawan Kalyan's Agnyaathavaasi wasn't enough, we have a fresh round of controversy about another film. This time around, it is Allu Arjun's forthcoming flick Naa Peru Surya which is under the scanner. The film being directed by Vakkantham Vamsi, is reportedly inspired by Hollywood film Antwone Fisher which was released in 2002.

In Antwone Fisher, Denzel Washington's debut film as a director and based on a true story, Derek Luke plays the eponymous role, portraying a moody, often violent, sailor in the US Navy. Fisher is a posthumous child and his teenage mother, Eva Fisher, places him in an orphanage, where she leaves him for good. Dr. Jerome Davenport (Denzel Washington), a psychiatrist, helps Fisher to come to terms with the changed circumstances in his life, in a plot replete with a number of twists and turns.

In the Naa Peru Surya teaser, Bunny is portrayed as an angry young man. However, we don't know if that's where the similarity ends or whether it stretches further. Are there any more similarities to the Hollywood film? We don't know for sure and the filmmakers of Naa Peru Surya haven't opened up on this subject either.

The question which is now doing the rounds in Tollywood circles is--where has our creativity gone? Why do we have to lean on foreign films like Largo Winch in the case of Agnyaathavaasi and Antwone Fisher, if the rumours are indeed true.
