‘My son’s throat cut to mislead Infosys techie Swathi murder case’  

Father of accused Ramkumar said that his son is innocent and is being framed because he hails from the Dalit community.

Chennai: Adding a new angle to the sensational Infosys Swathi murder case, Paramasivam, father of accused Ramkumar said that his son is innocent and is being framed because he hails from the Dalit community.

Speaking to a local media on Thursday at his hometown in Tirunelveli, Paramasivam said that on July 1 police officials came to his house and asked for Muthukumar and even after being told by his daughter that there is no Muthukumar here, they handcuffed his son Ramkumar and took him away.

“I believe that my son was arrested in a case of mistaken identity. As the police were in great pressure from court, they fixed my son as the accused,” said Paramasivam.

Asked about his son admitting to the crime, he quips that, “My son’s throat has been cut by the police so how can he make statements. It is a case of mistaken identity.”

Meanwhile, Tirunelveli SP Vikram said that the allegations such as these are quite common in cases and he has no comments to make, adding that, police has done their job and the case is being investigated.
