Mumbai: Have you ever heard of animals inheriting property? Surprisingly, a couple in Mumbai would leave their assets worth Rs5 crore to its pet dogs – Buddy and Tiny.

The two retrievers would soon be the wealthiest canines in Mumbai. Nandini and Nimesh treat their dogs as their own children, so much that they also eat the leftover from the dogs’ plate.

The affection for two dogs started after Nandini suffered miscarriage. The couple wanted to opt for IVF treatment to become parent but the notion changed when her husband brought Buddy into their life.

“I was shattered when I lost my baby. But when my husband brought Buddy home I realized that loving these animals is more important. I gave up the desire of having a human child. They have shown me the same love and devotion as any human baby,” said Nandini.

The canines are pampered as their own children and lead a royal life; they have gold chains around their neck too.

Nandini is a heart patient and hence like any other parents wants her canines to be taken care off in future and hence she planned for a trust under which not just Buddy and Tiny but other street dogs would also be taken care off.

Their lawyer Vinod Sampat said, “She, with a noble intention, has decided to transfer her assets to a trust for their dogs. We have already initiated the process, but it will take some time to complete."
