The Producers of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala have stopped the screening films in theatres until Digital Service Providers (DSPs) bring down the Virtual Print Fees (VPF). The regional films are being fleeced by the DSPs while for Hollywood films, they have a very less rate.

The strike tries to drive point that south Indian film industry is no more going accept the partial conditions of DSPs and are demanding for change in the fee structure. Till now the talks between the four industry representatives and DSPs have not drawn to any conclusion.

They have started the strike and they are likely to continue when DPS gives a irrational pricing for all five regions screens. Yesterday, in the two Telugu speaking states they have resumed screenings but they will not screen any Telugu film until further notice.
