Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabam has said that he will soon decide the future course of action on his padayatra — ‘Chalo Amaravati’ on August 30 after consulting Kapu leaders from all the districts in Andhra Pradesh.

Kirlampudi (East Godavari): Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabam has said that he will soon decide the future course of action on his padayatra — 'Chalo Amaravati' after consulting Kapu leaders from all the districts in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons at his residence on Monday, Mudragada questioned the TDP government as to what was wrong in asking the government to implement the promises it had made to Kapu community.

"Did we vote for the TDP to get caned and lathicharged? Are we terrorists? Don't we have a right to ask the government to implement the promises it had made to us? Is Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu a Hitler?" he questioned.

On Sunday, Mudragada along with his followers were stopped by the police at Veeravaram in Kirlampudi mandal after he took out padayatra from his residence in Kirlampudi. Later, he was bundled into a police van and was shifted to police station.

"When Chandrababu went to stage a dharna at Bhabali project, did he take permission?," he questioned. The AP CM is wasting time by giving useless speeches. CM always talks about just Pattiseema and Purushottapatnam lift irrigation schemes. When there were no restrictions being imposed against the protests of other political parties, why the police are preventing Kapus from staging protests?" he questioned.

Responding to a query on the Nandyal byelection results, Mudragada said the ruling TDP won the election by misusing power and distributing huge amount of money to the voters.
