Move on special package worries T Cong leaders

As the speculations are doing the rounds that the Congress high command was contemplating to announce a special package for Telangana, Congress leaders from Telangana queued up for Delhi to exert pressure on the party leadership. The package rumours keep T Congress leaders in a quandary.

Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha reached Delhi on Wednesday evening and Minister for Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy is leaving for Delhi tonight. Former PCC president and Congress MLC Dharmapuri Srinivas already camped in Delhi. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy may proceed to Delhi after the Assembly session.

Governor ESL Narasimhan had hectic parleys with Prime Ministers and Union Ministers Antony and Shinde yesterday and he was continuing to brief the leaders on the consequences in the event of special Package is announced for Telangana.

Meanwhile, Ministers Sunitha Lakshma Reddy and Jana Reddy rejected the proposal for a special package for Telangana region. They made it clear that the Congress leadership should announce a separate statehood.

Hyd brothers for early decision on T

Ministers Danam Nagender and Mukhesh Goud, who skipped the yesterday’s meeting of Telangana Congress leaders, made their point clear on Wednesday saying that the party would incur a heavy loss if it did not decide on T. Danam Nagender further said Telangana problem would not solve with mere packages.

A decision is likely to be expected from the Congress high command after taking a view of Telangana leaders on the issue.
