Motor Inspector Held For Amassing Illegal Assets Worth Rs3 Crore

Hyderabad: Ghouse Pasha, a motor vehicle inspector (MVI), working at Bhadradri-Kothagudem district was arrested by ACB sleuths on Monday for having assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The officials recovered properties worth Rs3 crore including a Benz, a Volkswagen Polo, a Skoda Octavia, a Ford Ecosport and a Mahindra Scorpio. However, market value of his properties will be even higher.

The sleuths kept a watch on the accused for past several days. They raided at 10 different locations in the state including LB Nagar, Malakpet, Moinabad, Bandlaguda in the city, Karimnagar and Kothagudem.

His son who discontinued his MBBS when asked about his income by the officials gave inconsistent answers

A shopping complex in Warangal, seven open plots, document of an 18-acre farm house at Moinabad, 10-acre land in Jangaon and 1.7 kg gold jewellery were found in his possession. Official said that the properties were registered on the name of his wife, daughter and son.

As per reports Pasha extorted money from motorists passing-by through check posts citing some shortcomings and also had a nexus with touts and collected bribes while processing applications for driving licence and travel documents.

The accused started his career as an assistant MVI in Adilabad in 1994. Meanwhile, his son, who discontinued his MBBS when asked about his income by the officials gave inconsistent answers.
