Mother Brands Her Daughters With Hot Iron Rod For Consuming Food 

Tandur: In a shocking incident, three kids were tortured by their mother for consuming food. The children are being tortured for the last five days. They were rescued by Anganwadi teacher Swapna when she noticed burns on the faces of the kids.

According to Circle-Inspector Saidireddy at Tandur Rural police station, the victims identified as Maheen (6), Haji (3), Naushiya (1) are daughters of dailywage labourers Sophia and Javed. Sophia cooked food on Sunday last week and left for the day's work by locking her kids inside the house at Maniknagar locality in Tandur town. The kids, who were hungry, consumed food that Sophia cooked.

Sophia, who returned home in the evening, found that there was no food. Angry over this, she burnt an iron rod red and branded the kids with it on their faces. After five days, an Anganwadi teacher noticed burn injuries and scars and contacted childline number. The child protection and women welfare officials rescued the victims and lodged a complaint with the police.
