Mopidevi returns from Sabarimala, surrenders before CBI court

Former excise minister Mopidevi Venkataramana who was released from jail on interim bail for visiting Sabarimala, surrendered before the CBI special court in Nampally on Thursday on his return.

The court remanded him for one day and he will have to appear in the court again on Friday.

The CBI court granted a ten-day interim bail to enable him to visit Sabarimala on pilgrimage. The interim bail period ended on Thursday. The former minister was arrested in May 2012 in connection with the Vanipic case.
