Money caught was not unaccounted for : Partha Sarathy

Former minister K.Partha Sarathy said that the money that was seized by the police from his wife was not unaccounted for. 

Speaking to reporters in Vijayawada on Friday, he said, “A candidate,who is contesting for Lok Sabha, can spend an amount of upto Rs.70 lakhs as per the rules of Election Commission of India.”

“I had to deposit some amount at Corporate Bank for election expenditure. I had to pay arrears for my construction company. My wife was taking the money only for these two kinds of expenditures,” explained Partha Sarathy.

Partha Sarathy’s wife Kamala was caught by the police at Vanasthalipuram in the city while she was going from Hyderabad to Vijayawada with some amount of money. The police seized the money. Later, she was released on her personal surety.
