Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 is the world’s biggest mobile technology event of the year, is the platform for the launch of many of the top smartphones, smart watches, and tablets, as well as the breeding ground for new trends in mobile, such as 5G. The venue of the Congress is Fira Gran Via, Barcelona with selected events, including 4YFN, hosted at Fira Montjuïc from tomorrow.

The MWC also plays host to some of the biggest Android flagship launches every year, and this year is no different with Samsung preparing to unveil its new Galaxy S9. With Huawei and Nokia set to convene press to make their announcements, all eyes are on Samsung, who have announced a Galaxy Unpacked launch event on Sunday. Sony and Asus are scheduled to do make their announcements on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

A new version of Asus’s ZenFone, the ZenFone 5 smartphone is set to be launched during the Mobile World Congress, as per the company’s announcement. Rumours suggest that Huawei is expected to change its naming pattern of devices and announce the Huawei P20. Taiwanese smart phone maker HTC has just announced the launch of HTC U11 Eyes in China.

Motorola owners Lenovo announced plenty of launches at CES 2018, where the manufacturer announced a Snapdragon-powered Windows 10 2-in-1 and the Mirage Solo, the first stand-alone Daydream Virtual Reality headset. The pack will also consist a VR180 camera and a Smart Display. Nokia’s plans for the MWC can be drawn from the recent leaks of the Nokia 1 and Nokia 7 Plus.

Sony has already announced two updates in 2018, the Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra. Both the devices are mid-range smart phones.
