When last summer’s transfer window was in full-flow, there was talk of two big names popping around all over the place in the Premier League circles, with two of the biggest clubs desperately looking for a striker, Manchester United grabbed Romelu Lukaku from Everton and Chelsea bought Spanish striker Alvaro Morata from La Liga giants Real Madrid, by the end of it.

But it was not how it ought to be: Mohammed Salah and Harry Kane’s incredible run of goal scoring is turning out to be a real contest to look out for, as we head into the midst of Premier League Match week 28, with two crackers of matches left to be played. Harry Kane has a crack at reclaiming the top spot for himself when Tottenham travelling to Selhurst Park to face 17th placed Crystal Palace this afternoon. Salah has drawn level with Harry Kane in the race to become the Premier League's top scorer.

When Salah scored yet again against West Ham United at Anfield, the Egyptian seemed to continue his magnificent run of form at Liverpool. Although Liverpool’s Premier League chances look next to impossible at this point of time, it should not stop the former Roma player from contending for the PFA Player of the year award along with the Spurs striker. Since Uruguay national Luis Suarez won the PFA award in the 2013-14 season, no one has grabbed without winning the League title.

Tottenham are currently placed at 5th position, behind defending champions Chelsea. If Harry Kane continues to improve his goal tally in this fashion, amid increasing transfer rumors linking him with a move to Real Madrid this summer, his team could be in a fighting position to claim their first trophy in 8 years.
