MLA candidate defeated as councillor at Devarakonda

Ramavat Lalu Nayak, who was TRS MLA candidate from  Devarakonda assembly constituency in the just-concluded elections, has failed to win as a councillor in Devarakonda municipality.

Naiak, who had contested the civic polls, was given ticket by KCR to contest as aan MLA. If he manages to win the MLA election, he would have the dubious distinction of being elected as an MLA, but defeated as a corporator.

The civic body polls, results of which were announced on Tuesday, threw up several surprises. For instance, TDP municipal chairman candidate Venkateswarlu was defeated as the councilor at Huzurnagar municipality.
