Hyderabad: A minor girl was impregnated by a youth and after she gave birth to a baby girl, he dumped her and went absconding.

In a routine Facebook friendship-turned-love story, Shivani was trapped by Arun a year ago. They became friends first and then lovers. They got into physical relationship and the girl became pregnant. As she was a minor at the time, Arun married Shivani at Yadagirigutta by giving false age details of the girl. He promised to marry her officially after she becomes a major.

Shivani delivered a baby girl on August 26 and became a major in September. When she insisted on marriage, Arun developed a cold feet and went absconding. They were staying in a rented house in Boduppal.

Shivani finally found out his parents' house in Mahabubabad and approached them with her baby. However, they did not accept her as their daughter-in-law. She then approached the Mahabubabad police and the Collector seeking their help in getting married to Arun. But his family is hellbent on their decision and Shivan claims that Arun's father even threatened to commit suicide if his son continued in his relationship with her.

The girl also claimed in her complaint that Arun and his family asked her to hand over the girl and offered to pay Rs5.00 lakh if she goes away from their lives.

As Arun and his father were not in a position to mend their ways and accept Shivani and her daughter, a case was filed under POCSO Act which provides punishment for raping minors, police said.

“My intent is not to send him to jail but to make him to accept me as his wife and my baby as his daughter. If he won't do that, I have no other way except to commit suicide," says the hapless 18 year-old girl.
